Burglaries Using Stolen Cars in UP and Spanaway

In the early morning of Tuesday May 2nd, University Place Deputies responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the “Up in Vapor” smoke shop at 5510 Orchard St W. When they arrived on scene they saw the front glass door of the business had been broken. A Hyundai Elantra was used to back into the doors and was then left in front of the business.

The thieves took thousands of dollars worth of vaping devices and vaping oils.

Deputies were unable to contact the owner of the vehicle but believe it was an unreported stolen vehicle.

At 03:05 am our Central Patrol Deputies responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the GameStop at 20220 Mountain Hwy E.

When the deputy arrived on scene he saw a black Kia Forte had backed into the front of the business and was left inside the store with the engine running.

The thieves took some items from the store and fled.  The owner of the Kia could not be located, but given the damage to the ignition deputies believe it too was a stolen vehicle.
