Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Arrest
100 blk Military Rd S, Parkland

A patrol sergeant contacted the driver of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. The vehicle didn’t have license plates and the temporary tag was expired. When the sergeant looked inside the vehicle, he saw ignition damage and noticed the car was being started with nail clippers. He ran the VIN and learned the car had been stolen in King County. The 40-year-old driver was arrested and booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle as well as a warrant for the same crime. Since June 2022, he has been a suspect in eight motor vehicle thefts or stolen property cases. While searching the car, the sergeant found a credit card belonging to a woman. He called the victim’s phone number, but a man answered and said the card was already canceled. The sergeant asked if the victim wanted to pursue charges for the stolen card and the man on the phone not-so-kindly told him where he could go and to lose his number.
