Commercial Burglary
17400 blk Pacific Ave S, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to a commercial burglary that had just occurred at a restaurant. When they arrived, the owner showed them surveillance video of a teenager entering the building through the drive-thru window. A neighbor approached the deputies to tell them that she had video of the vehicle the suspects were driving. As they were talking, the neighbor realized that the vehicle was parked across the street. Deputies went over to the car and found two teenagers – a male and female – sleeping in the front seats. The 14-year-old male was clearly the suspect from the video and was arrested for burglary in the second degree. He was booked into Remann Hall.

Trespassing, Harassment
12000 blk Kapowsin Hwy E, Graham

Deputies were dispatched to a rural residential area in response to a person going door-to-door exhibiting aggressive and erratic behavior. Deputies arrived and detained the suspect. Neighbors told deputies that the suspect had been pounding on their doors and wouldn’t leave when asked. He threatened violence towards some of the neighbors and their children. The 45-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into jail for felony harassment and criminal trespass in the second degree.

Fatal Collision, DUI
304th St E & 8th Ave E, Roy

Deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover collision. When they arrived, deputies found a vehicle and debris scattered in a field. The driver was alert and walking. It appeared that the passenger, 19, had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed an odor of intoxicants. The 21-year-old driver was transported to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries, and a blood draw was also completed. This is being investigated as a vehicular homicide. Toxicology reports will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office once they become available.

Shoplifting
16900 blk Meridian E, South Hill

A deputy took a shoplifting report from the manager of a beauty store. The manager told him that she had surveillance video of two suspects shoplifting from her store. She said the male and female suspects stole 13 fragrances, valued at $1,552. Deputies are working with the manager to obtain the video. The investigation is ongoing.

Attempted Armed Robbery
184th St E & 22nd Ave E, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to an attempted armed robbery in a residential area. The victim told deputies he had just finished up working on one of his properties and was sitting in his vehicle. He noticed two teenagers leaving the housing development across the street. He looked away briefly and when he looked back again, one of the males was at his window and was pointing a handgun at him. The suspect demanded the victim’s car, but the victim drove away and found a safe pace to call 911. The victim said both males appeared to be between 14 and 17 years old. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
