K9 tracks, locates domestic violence suspect

Today at noon, our dispatchers received a call about an order violation in progress in the Spanaway area near 224th and 38th Ave E.

The suspect was threatening to break down the door and was in violation of a current domestic violence protection order. Deputies were told the suspect was known to carry a firearm with him although it had not been seen in this incident.

The suspect fled in his vehicle just before our units arrived on scene. Deputies immediately conducted a search for his vehicle in the nearby neighborhoods. Thankfully someone called in the suspect’s suspicious behavior when he parked his car, ran, and started hopping over fences.

Deputies were able to setup containment in the area and called for a K9 to assist.

Today Lakewood WA Police Department K9 Rock arrived with his partner to help track the suspect.
After a short track the suspect was located hiding in a thick patch of brush between two properties. The deputies with the assistance of K9 Rock were able to convince the suspect to surrender without any resistance. Thanks for the assist Lakewood!
