Vehicle Theft, Commercial Burglary
15800 blk 66th Ave NW, Gig Harbor

A deputy was dispatched to a commercial burglary at a propane company. An employee told him that the suspects cut a hole in the fence and then broke into a pickup truck. They stole the battery from the pickup and used it to start a large flatbed truck. They crashed the truck through the gate and fled. A similar truck was stolen from the business in February.

7/2/22 – 7/3/22, Overnight
Commercial Burglary
900 blk 26th Ave NW, Gig Harbor

A deputy was dispatched to a commercial burglary at a team apparel business. The owner told the deputy that the suspects broke into a storage container and stole seven generators, valued at approximately $5,000. The apparel company travels to sporting events and prints apparel on site using the generators. In January, six other generators were stolen from the company’s storage container. Deputies are working to determine if there is surveillance video at any neighboring businesses.

Possession of Stolen Property, Weapons Violation
7800 blk 176th St E, South Hill

A patrol deputy spotted a speeding vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in a gas station parking lot. Dispatch informed the deputy that the car was stolen, so the deputy took the driver into custody. While patting him down, the deputy located a loaded pistol magazine in the driver’s pocket. The 40-year-old driver is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. His most recent conviction was for unlawful possession of a firearm. The driver also had meth in his pocket. He was booked into jail for possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm. Deputies later served a search warrant on the car and located a pistol that had its serial number removed.

Commercial Burglary
7600 blk Portland Ave, Midland

A deputy was dispatched to a commercial burglary at an asphalt company. When he arrived, the owner said that one of his employees showed up to work and found a big hole in the chain link fence. According to surveillance video, a pickup truck pulled up next to the fence and five suspects got out. They cut a hole in the fence, stole various items and took them back to their truck. The suspects came back three times and stole various items including a leaf blower, a generator and a pressure washer.

Armed Robbery
17300 blk Pacific Ave S, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery at a smoke shop in Spanaway. When they arrived, the victim told them that the suspect entered the store and asked for a pack of cigarettes. The victim turned around to get the cigarettes and when he turned back around, the suspect was pointing a pistol at him. The suspect demanded cash and the victim complied. Deputies are working to obtain surveillance video from the store owner.

7/4/22 – 7/5/22, Overnight
Commercial Burglary
16100 blk Meridian E, South Hill

A deputy was dispatched to a commercial burglary at a restaurant. When he arrived, a manager told him that someone broke a window and crawled into the restaurant. The suspect went to the office and stole the safe and a tablet, along with some phones that were in the lost-and-found. There is no surveillance video of the suspect.
