Deputies arrest 3 juveniles for armed carjacking

This morning, at 3:55am, deputies were dispatched to an armed carjacking at a gas station in the 11900 block of Pacific Ave S in Parkland.

When deputies arrived, the victim told them he had just completed tattoos on the three suspects and was giving them a ride home when they all pulled out guns and threatened to shoot him. The victim got out of the vehicle and the suspects left in it.

A sergeant spotted the vehicle in the 11000 block of Steele St S and followed it as it got onto westbound SR 512 and then northbound I-5. Once backup arrived, deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but it took off. Since armed robbery is a pursuable offense, deputies chased after the car.

Tacoma Police officers deployed stop sticks at 72nd St E and McKinley Ave, which the car hit. The car’s tires went flat and the car came to a stop. The suspects got out of the car and fled on foot. Deputies caught up to them and arrested all three.

The suspects are all juveniles: a 17-year-old male and two 16-year-old females. They were booked into Remann Hall for robbery in the first degree, felony harassment, eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and obstructing. Two firearms were recovered.
