This morning, at 9:03am, deputies and fire personnel were dispatched to a serious collision in front of the Bethel School District office building in the 500 block of 176th St E in Spanaway.
When deputies arrived, they learned that a green pickup truck had rear-ended a white pickup truck. The white truck then hit a fence and a utility pole. The green truck drove off the south side of the road and came to rest against a school district building.
The driver of the green truck was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger died at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the white truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Nobody inside the office building was injured.
The investigation is ongoing and 176th St E will remain closed while investigators are still on scene.
