At 10:09am, deputies were dispatched to a collision in the 16800 block of Spanaway Loop Rd S in Spanaway. When they arrived, they discovered that a silver sedan had collided with a dump truck.
Civilians provided CPR, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant.
Investigators learned that the sedan had been reported stolen just prior to the crash. It had been left running unattended at a convenience store in Lakewood.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the sedan was traveling southbound on Spanaway Loop Rd S and coming out of a turn when it crossed the center turn lane and hit the front of a dump trailer that was being towed by a dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
