Two arrested after Spanaway shooting, pursuit

This afternoon, at 1:15pm, a 911 caller reported a shooting at a mobile home park in the 19000 block of Pacific Ave S in Spanaway.

As deputies were responding the scene, they were informed that the suspect left in a vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle nearby and attempted to stop it, but the driver sped away. Since deputies had probable cause to arrest someone in the car for assault in the first degree, they pursued the vehicle northbound into Parkland. The vehicle eventually crashed in the 100 block of 117th St E and the occupants fled on foot.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw the suspects run into a nearby house and that they hadn’t come back outside. Deputies began setting up containment in the area and started working on a plan. A few minutes later, a car pulled up to the house and the suspects got inside. The vehicle drove away and deputies stopped it.

A 23-year-old male and a 29-year-old female were arrested. A third suspect was detained for questioning.

A K9 team conducted a track and confirmed that the suspects ran from the crashed vehicle and into the house.

Nobody was injured in the shooting or the crash.

Detectives will serve a search warrant at the house to recover evidence from the shooting.
