On March 4, at 6:40am, a 911 caller reported that a family member called her and said she had been shot at a residence in the 700 block of Polk St S in Parkland.
When deputies arrived, they found a 30-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition.
According to detectives, the suspect is known to the victim.
There was a 6-month-old child inside the residence at the time of the shooting and the child is now in protective custody.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are searching for the suspect.
