Assault
12200 blk Meridian E, South Hill

A woman went to a fast-food restaurant at 9am and ordered breakfast burritos in the drive-thru. She returned two hours later and was upset that the burritos didn’t have as much meat and eggs as the last time she ordered them. An employee tried to remedy the situation by offering a refund, but the customer refused and demanded more burritos. The employee said she couldn’t do that because they had stopped serving breakfast. The customer parked her car and went inside the restaurant. She threw her beverage and her bag of food at the employee, hitting her in the head. She also threatened the employees, saying that her husband was going to beat them up. The employee called 911 and the customer left.

DUI, Hit and Run
13th Ave S & Military Rd S, Spanaway

Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance involving a hit and run collision. When they arrived, they found two drivers yelling at each other. According to witnesses, the driver of a Dodge Charger had driven into oncoming traffic on 13th Ave S and struck another vehicle. The driver then continued driving with only three operable tires. He eventually pulled into the Sprinker Rec Center parking lot. Deputies observed signs that the driver was impaired, but he denied drinking. A records check revealed that he has two prior DUI convictions and is supposed to have an ignition interlock device (there wasn’t one in the car he was driving). The 32-year-old driver was arrested and taken to the hospital for a blood draw before being booked into jail for DUI with prior conviction, hit and run, failure to have ignition interlock and driving while suspended.

Eluding
9900 blk Steele St S, Parkland

A patrol deputy noticed an unlicensed silver Dodge Durango driving in front of him with what appeared to be a fake trip permit. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but it kept driving at slow speeds. It finally stopped at 102nd St S and Steele St S. The deputy got out of his car, but as he approached the suspect’s vehicle, it suddenly accelerated and sped away. The deputy did not pursue the vehicle since driving an unlicensed vehicle (or having a fake trip permit) is not a pursuable offense under state law. Another deputy spotted the speeding Durango moments later, but also could not pursue it.
