On Feb. 2, at 1:05pm, a 911 caller reported that she had just been carjacked at gunpoint in an apartment complex in the 17400 block of 44th Ave E in Spanaway.
A deputy located the victim’s white Jeep and attempted to stop it. The driver fled and the deputy initiated a pursuit since he had probable cause that the driver committed first-degree assault. At one point during the pursuit, the driver went off the road and damaged a front tire. The pursuit ended at Clover Park High School in Lakewood when the 17-year-old female driver got out of the vehicle and ran. She was arrested inside the school. She still had the gun on her, which had been stolen during a car prowl last year. She was booked into Remann Hall for assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, possession of a stolen firearm and eluding.
A second suspect, a 15-year-old female, was arrested and booked for robbery in the first degree.
Clover Park High School and surrounding schools were locked down during the quickly evolving incident, but it appears that the suspect was able to sneak inside CPHS before it was completely locked down.
