Homicide in Puyallup, Man Shot then Crashes into Tree

DETECTIVES SEEKING VIDEO OF CAR DRIVEN BY HOMICIDE VICTIM
On January 28, at 11pm, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision in the 10400 block of Woodland Ave E. The vehicle, a purple early 90’s Mazda Miata, had been traveling northbound on Woodland Ave E at a high rate of speed when it left the road and struck a large tree.
The 24-year-old driver, and sole occupant, suffered life-threating injuries and died at the hospital.
The medical examiner later determined that the driver died from a gunshot wound, not from the collision itself.
Detectives are seeking surveillance video that shows the vehicle just before the time of the crash. If you live in the area highlighted on the map, please review your surveillance video to see if you captured footage of the car from 10:30-11:00pm on January 28.
