Road Crews responding to roadway flooding

Pierce County road crews are responding to reports of roadway flooding in Central Pierce County.

Road crews have responded to 29 sites with water over the roadway and two sites with trees down blocking the roadway. A map of affected sites can be found here.

South Prairie Carbon River Road in South Prairie is closed approximately 100 yards north of 157th Street East due to flooding over both lanes of the roadway.

Public Works and Utilities will deploy five two-person crews tonight to monitor flooded areas and respond to any new sites that are reported.

Drivers should not drive through standing water or around barricades.
