Updates for Kia, Hyundai owners

In response to the rise in thefts of Hyundai and Kia vehicles, our task force regularly communicates with the manufacturers so that we can provide you with the latest news. Below is the most current information we have for Kia and Hyundai owners:

KIA

Kia is providing a free, enhanced security software upgrade to restrict the unauthorized operation of vehicle ignition systems on certain models that use a steel key and “turn-to-start” ignition. Kia has already begun installing this free software upgrade and anticipates making it available to most owners of affected vehicles over the next few months. Please watch for the mailed notification of the availability of the free software upgrade or any other offer of assistance that may apply to your vehicle and take immediate action.
